This project will develop new approaches using existing and recently developed OSL-based methods in order to date the use of lithic quarries, the construction of stone arrangements and megaliths, and the accumulation of surface artefact scatters. These novel approaches will be applied to key archaeological sites in Tibet and outback Australia. The new approaches developed in this project will add significant tools to the quiver of archaeological scientists by enabling the dating of resilient, accessible and often enigmatic types of sites.
