High-alpine karst in the Karwendel Mountains

The Karwendel Mountains are one of the least studied karst regions of the Northern Calcareous Alps. During a dedicated 3-day field trip Gabriella Koltai, Tanguy Racine, Charlotte Honiat and Christoph Spötl visited 21 new caves in the reagion west of Ödkarspitzen and surveyed a total of 446 m of passages, including ice- and firn-bearing shafts as deep as 54 m.
