Yuri Dublyanski, Gabriella Koltai, Jeffrey Munroe, Christoph Spötl and Tanguy Racine attended IWIC VIII. The event was held in Potes within the Picos de Europa National Park between the 11th and 17th of June 2018 and saw nearly 40 attendees.
The first three days saw full morning presentations and poster sessions rounding up new findings in the field by the invited workers while the afternoons were dedicated to field trips to the Cantabrian karstic coast, El Soplao mine and show cave, and glacial landforms in the Picos central massif.
After the well attended farewell dinner held in Potes, Yuri, Gabriella and Tanguy took part in the last full day field trip to the central massif, visiting the Zn-Pb dolomite hosted Gramas mine deposits and abseiling into the Altaiz Ice Cave.
