23 Jul 2022
Between 17th to 22nd July, 2022, we hosted Climate Change, The Karst Record IX (KR9) in Innsbruck and online. Due to the pandemic, the conference was delayed two years, but it was well worth the wait.
192 people from 39 countries took part in the conference. We listened and discussed 52 oral presentations and 123 poster presentations. We enjoyed fieldtrips to Spannagel Höhle, Natureispalast, and Eisriesenwelt, and took part in workshops on SISAL, Petrography, Age-Depth Modelling and Radiocarbon.
Thank you to everyone who made it a success and congratulations to the students who received the Outstanding Student Presentation Awards: Charlotte Honiat, Marit Holten Løland, Dakalo Portia Maphanda, and Melina Wertnik.
Congratulations to South Africa for winning the bid to host KR10. We look forward to the next Karst Record meeting which will be held in Africa for the first time.
