Field work in Nevada

With permission of the Death Valley National Park they successfully cored part of the thick carbonate crust that coats the wall of this cave. These new samples are important to refine our published record of past fluctuations of the groundwater table, which is a key archive of the hydroclimate in this part of the Great Basin. They also performed laser scanning of both Devils Hole proper and Devils Hole 2 caves.
