We conducted field work in the Rocky Mountains in the course of our surface artefact dating project and collected calibration samples left in the Gunnison Basin (Colorado) in 2023 with the help of Chris Merriman (Adam States U., USA). We moved on to Utha to work on a rock glacier in the Uinta Mountains together with Jeff Munroe (U. Middlebury, USA), where we collected samples for the Master project of Daniel Sperlich, who will test an OSL rock surface dating approach on the Uinta quarzite boulders.
We enjoyed two fantastic weeks in the North American wilderness together with our colleagues and brought back 60 kg of rocks to be processed in our new OSL rock surface dating laboratory.
