Gina and Gregor undertake UK fieldwork

As part of Project COAL (Calthemite records Of the industriAL era), Gina Moseley and M.Sc. student Gregor Reiter undertook the first fieldwork in the UK. Gina, accompanied by Robbie Shone, first visited the Dudley Canal and Caverns where they set up a weather station and underground monitoring.

Gina presented two talks at the UK Caving Conference, Hidden Earth, in Llangollen, Wales, before meeting  Gregor in Buxton, England. Together they visited the hyperalkaline tufa at Harper Hill, where they managed to collect core samples and set up further monitoring.
