News about CCC

CCC are an exciting and under-researched class of speleothems and the best archive to learn about past cave glaciations. As part of our ongoing activities in Alpine caves, two new studies have recently been published.
The first study investigates the in-situ occurrence of CCC in cave ice and suggests the existence of a new type of CCC that lies between the known fine and coarse types. The second article focusses on the coarse CCC type and shows that these deposits can be used to trace millennial-scale warmings (D-O-events) in the subsurface.
