Ilulissat Outreach

This summer, the Greenland Caves Project with Gina Moseley, Lena Friedrich, Stephanie Renslow, Manuel Rührer and Robbie Shone spent a month in Ilulissat, from 9 August to 8 September 2025. They undertook a residency at the ILLU Science & Art Hub in collaboration with Climate Narratives. The team held a public exhibition featuring cave and landscape photography from North Greenland, along with educational short films in Greenlandic and English that introduced their scientific work on caves and climate history. Visitors of all ages could take part in interactive science activities, and the team engaged closely with the local community, from school children and scouts to adults, to share insights about geology, caves, and long-term climate change. The exhibition was open to the public Wednesday to Sunday throughout the residency, with several special opening events.
