We participated in a joint petrographic and geochemical investigation of Roman aqueduct calcite deposits in Turkey lead by researchers from Mainz University. These travertine-type sediments may hold high promise as a very high-resolution palaeoenvironmental and palaeohydrological archive in certain regions.
