The main focus of this trip were Pleistocene cryogenic cave carbonates, “common” speleothems, and palaeontological material from caves primarily on the eastern slope of the Urals. Accompanied by Olga Kadebskaya and Pavel Kosintsev (both Russian Academy of Sciences) Yuri Dublyansky and Paul Töchterle examined 18 caves on their 4,000 km-long trip in the Northern, Central and Southern Ural Mountains.
