British Ice Cave Funding

Gina Moseley has been awarded two grants to investigate the degradation of permafrost during abrupt climate change events of the last glacial period. She will use the funds to finance a public outreach project to get cavers looking for cryogenic cave calcites (CCCs) in all the main caving regions of the UK. At the start of November she launched a competition that will run until 30th June, 2018. Six prizes of 200m of rope or £240-worth of caving equipment will be awarded to the person or group that find the most sites with CCCs before the closing date.
