OSL sampling in Tischoferhöhle

Tischoferhöhle is a cave situated near Kufstein in the picturesque Wilder Kaiser Mountains. In the previous century sediments from this cave have yielded a wealth of paleontological information sheding light the Late Pleistocene faunal evolution of this part of the Eastern Alps. This cave is under re-excavation by a team of archaeologists headed by Joachim Pechtl (Institute of Archaeology, Uibk). They also veryfied the presence of Palaeolithic hunther-gatherers in the deepest levels of this cave. We took a series of OSL samples to better constrain the depositional age of this cave-mouth sediment succession.
