Benjamin works on OSL and IRSL dating of Late Pleistocene fine-grained lake sediments in the Eastern Alpine realm. In combination with quaternary geological field mapping he reconstructs the sedimentary processes, morphodynamics and behaviour of the alpine ice-stream network throughout the last glacial cycle. His PhD includes a modellig component in collaboration with the University of Lausanne (T. Leger and G. Jouvet) aiming at a direct comparison of field-based evidence of former ice dynamics with high-resolution modelling results.
